This is a standout single from TJ Reynolds' critically acclaimed "NPR" album, in which he took samples from popular National Public Radio themes and shows, hooked 'em up in the MPC and made them into bangers to rap over. This particular tune was inspired by "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross. He even has an "interview" with her on this cut.
TJ would later parlay this project into being on a local NPR show (Indianapolis' "Cultural Manifesto" with DJ Kyle Long), also getting snippets from the album played on multiple nationally syndicated NPR shows ("Marketplace," "The Takeaway"), and eventually being a guest on "The Takeway" where he was interviewed by Jon Hockenberry. He and Jon even freestyled together live on air (classic material) and he also got to meet his hero, Diane Rehm!
Always a hit with the kids, now old white people are bumping TJ's music up and down the cul de sac...
